Ultralife Batteries Inc. (Newark, NY) announced that it has delivered a large quantity of its model U9VL-J 9V, lithium-manganese-dioxide, primary (non-rechargeable) batteries to the UK Ministry of Defense (MOD) against an order valued at over $800,000. The batteries are for use in an undisclosed military device.

John Kavazanjian, Ultralife's president and chief executive officer, said, "We are very pleased that the MOD has recognized the great value our long-life 9V battery provides over alkaline batteries. We produce the longest-lasting 9V battery in the world, far outlasting alkaline batteries in a wide range of medical, security, industrial and military applications."
