TT electronics plc (Boone, NC) announced its acquisition of optoelectronic manufacturer Optek Technology Inc. (Carrollton, TX) from privately held Dyson-Kissner-Moran Corp. (DKM). Optek will expand TT electronics’ sensor portfolio, adding optoelectronic as well as fiber optic technology to the extensive offering of automotive sensors, hybrid assemblies and passive components from TT electronics divisions. Optek has facilities in Carrollton and in Juarez, Mexico, with approximately 1,000 employees.

"The Optek acquisition represents significant business synergies for TT electronics in increasing our sensor product portfolio to our worldwide customer base," explained Robert Fletcher, divisional chief executive of TT electronics components business. "Both TT and Optek have substantial sensor sales into the automotive market, and we anticipate being able to position Optek for increased opportunities with our mutual automotive customers. Also, we can leverage Optek’s strong position in the office equipment market to increase sales of our passive components."
