December 26, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Siemens Solar Industries LP (Camarillo, CA) announced that its panels are powering the roadway lighting to the headquarter campus of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA, Research Triangle Park, NC). The complete solar-powered lighting systems were manufactured by Solar Electric Power Co. Ltd. (SEPCO, UK).

"We chose Siemens Solar panels because they've proven themselves in the field - in some of the harshest climates on the planet - for decades,” stated Steven Robbins, president of SEPCO.

EPA Project Manager Chris Long commented, “We're extremely pleased with the installation. We're committed to using cost-effective technologies that reduce our air pollution impact, and this project speaks volumes about our commitment to clean, renewable energy.”
