Powerbox acquires assets of Power Technics

April 11, 2016 by Jeff Shepard

Powerbox has acquired the assets of former Power Technics BV. The assets include products, laboratory equipment, warehouse, etc. This acquisition will strengthen Powerbox design capabilities for demanding applications. Power Technics will be fully integrated within the Powerbox Group and will remain located in the same facility in The Netherlands. Due to the fact that Powerbox bought the assets of the company out of bankruptcy, the court administrator does not allow any of the financial details to be released.

Power Technics has a very long expertise in designing power solutions for the marine industry and for the growing applications in conveyers (such as the one used by web-distributors to convey parcels from shelves to final shipping). They have track records in power systems able to deliver very high peak power when dc motors start and to maintain stable voltage whatever (in the limit of specifications) the load is.

In addition to that, Power Technics developed an intelligent power architecture making possible for the site manager to monitor power supplies, enabling preventive maintenance, which in the case of facilities such as "parcel distribution centers" operated 365/365 24/24, is very important to avoid any latency or delays in delivery.

“Powerbox and Power Technics have a longstanding relationship in jointly designing power solutions for complex Marine and Defense industry systems meeting and exceeding high quality demand and with great customer satisfaction” said Louis Masreliez VP of Sales Northern Europe. “Adding Power Technics resources and competences into Powerbox will benefit to all of our customers and will guarantee business continuation to the large base of installed products developed by Power Technics.”
