Power Paper Ltd. (Tel Aviv, Israel), a provider of thin and flexible micro-power source technology and devices, announced the opening of a production facility to produce its proprietary raw inks and materials in Bet Shemesh, Israel, outside of Tel Aviv. The company invested approximately $2.0 million in the 1,200m² facility, which supplies authorized manufacturers with the raw materials necessary for producing Power Paper’s energy cells.
The Bet Shemesh facility supplies Power Paper’s authorized manufacturers in China, Germany and the US with the company’s proprietary inks and other raw materials. The facility will enable Power Paper to provide its partners with the raw materials to produce hundreds of millions of batteries per year. The Bet Shemesh facility also houses a pilot battery production line, used primarily for research and development of the company’s batteries and production technologies.
"This is a major leap forward for Power Paper," said Shalom Daskal, Power Paper’s CEO. "As 2002 has been the first real year of commercial activity for Power Paper, this facility enables us to supply our growing list of customers with all of the materials necessary to produce energy cells and other micro-powered devices."
