Ohmite Manufacturing Co. has claimed global manufacturing status following the acquisition of Arcol in the UK by parent company Heico. Arcol, based in Truro, Cornwall is a leading European manufacturer of aluminum housed resistors and Ohmite, on behalf of Heico, will manage Arcol's operations going forward. The acquisition provides Ohmite with a manufacturing facility in Europe to add to their current facilities in Mexico and the USA.

Ohmite’s President, Greg Pace commented: “The combination of Arcol’s high-quality wire-wound product line compliments Ohmite’s global offering. Arcol is strong in aluminum housed resistors which will fit nicely within our selling strategy. The combined selling portfolio is without question one of the industry’s most comprehensive for power, sensing and thermal resistive solutions.”

Arcol, founded in the mid 1960’s, was acquired by Mike Pritchard and Alun Morgan in 1992. Former owner Mike Pritchard says, “This is a very nice fit for Arcol and its employees, distributors and customers. The combined product lines, and distribution channels will result in sustained growth for Ohmite. We are pleased to be selling to such a fine organization and we are proud of what Arcol has accomplished.
