Microsemi Corp. (Irvine, CA) has reached an agreement with Advanced Power Technology Inc. (APT, Bend, OR) for the sale of its low-frequency, RF bipolar, transistor business for $12.2 million in cash. The acquisition of the 20,000sqft facility is part of Microsemi’s consolidation plans, and will round out APT’s RF power semiconductor portfolio. The business has 46 employees and had revenue of about $10.0 million in 2001. Microsemi said the sale is expected to close in four to six weeks.
"The opportunity to sell our Montgomeryville business to APT made great sense to both of us and extends a close working relationship with APT that we’ve enjoyed for a number of years," stated Microsemi President and CEO James Peterson.
