Micrel Elects Michael Callahan to Board of Directors

August 30, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Micrel Inc. (San Jose, CA), a developer of IC and Ethernet solutions, announced the election of Michael Callahan to its Board of Directors. Callahan will replace Warren Muller, who had previously stated his intention to retire as a regular member of the board at the end of August 2005. Callahan is currently the Chairman of Teknovus Inc., a privately held firm specializing in communications chipsets for subscriber access networks. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Quicklogic Corp. and serves on the board of Virtual Silicon Technology Inc., a supplier of semiconductor intellectual property to manufacturers and designers of complex systems-on-a-chip.

"Mr. Callahan brings to Micrel an impressive background in the semiconductor industry, both as a technologist driving new solutions to market and as an expert in the arena of manufacturing," said Micrel President, CEO, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board Ray Zinn. "We are looking forward to his contributions as we all continue to work together to increase Micrel's value-add with system level solutions that address the most demanding IC requirements in today's global markets."
