Lucent Technologies Opens New Canadian Headquarters

Lucent Technologies (Murray Hill, NJ) hosted more than 1,000 guests at the grand opening of its new Canadian headquarters on June 20, 2000. The $50 million, 200,000 square foot building will house up to 850 employees and is located in Markham, Ontario.The building uses advanced building techniques, including a glass floor which shows the high tech elements working beneath it, which is referred to as "smart" building technologies. It also includes a Bell Labs wireless innovation laboratory. The new building consolidates Lucent's Toronto area offices and warehouse.
