October 07, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Kyocera Corp. (San Diego) announced plans to strengthen production systems in response to global growth in demand for solar power generating systems, mainly for residential use. Plans include bolstering solar cell and module production facilities in Japan and launching a module production plant in Tianjin, China. Kyocera will then increase production capacity on a step-by-step basis to achieve large-scale production of multi-crystalline silicon solar cells and modules to 120MW per annum in June 2004.
