Konarka Technologies Adds Two New Advisors

December 28, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Konarka Technologies Inc. (Lowell, MA), a developer and manufacturer of photovoltaic nanomaterials products that convert light to energy, announced that Charles Gay and Thomas Grandke have joined the company as advisors. Gay, a recognized leader in the solar power industry, and Grandke, a top materials scientist with Siemens AG, will offer strategic guidance about Konarka's product development, research efforts and key markets to the senior management team.

"As Konarka's chairman, one of my most crucial responsibilities is to ensure we execute on our vision for low cost, universally available renewable energy," said Konarka Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Howard Berke. "Bringing in the right people is the best way I know how to guarantee success. Charlie and Thomas are two of the most respected visionaries in their fields, and their knowledge and insight will only help us as we use our power plastics to open up markets and applications that traditionally have been closed to photovoltaics."
