Kinetic Motor to Debut Kinetic Nova Scooters in Europe

March 18, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Kinetic Motor Co. Ltd. (India), a leading scooter manufacturer has drawn up its plan to enter the European markets with its four-stroke scooter, the Kinetic Nova. The Nova has successfully completed all homologation requirements for European countries, and the first few containers will be dispatched to Turkey, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Greece and the UK by the end of this month.

The European homologation is a difficult process that involves a comprehensive and detailed testing and certification process by the authorities. The vehicle must meet specified norms of emission, design and safety in terms of parameters like braking, durability, lighting, quality, etc. Europe could give a major thrust to the Nova exports since it is a large and well-established scooter market. After Europe, Kinetic will begin exporting the Nova to the US followed by Japan, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Sulajja Motwani, joint managing director of Kinetic, stated, "It's exciting that our Nova is on its way to sophisticated scooter markets in Europe. Worldwide, the standard specifications for scooters are four-stroke engines, variomatic transmissions and electric start. Nova is equipped with all these requirements, in addition to other features such as a technically advanced, highly refined engine; eco-friendly emission parameters, powerful headlights, etc."
