KEMET Reveals Plans for New Product Launches at Electronica

November 04, 2014 by Power Pulse1595211359

KEMET has revealed its plans for Electronica, to be hosted next week, launching new tantalum capacitor families while also showcasing advanced high-performance ceramic capacitors. These new products are expected to further strengthen the company's market position as the engineer's choice for capacitors, filters, relays, EMC solutions, and supercapacitors.

Booth 442 in Hall B6 will be the place to see KEMET’s new AEC-Q200 compliant tantalum polymer capacitors for automotive applications. As the role of electronic systems becomes ever more important in today’s cars, KEMET has prioritized high quality, reliability and volumetric efficiency to handle the demands placed on systems such as driver assistance, energy recovery and infotainment.

Engineers looking for X2 capacitors capable of withstanding harsh environments such as high humidity can find out more about KEMET’s new F862 series metallized polypropylene film capacitors at the booth. The F862 series are fully-approved RFI X2 capacitors for noise filtering and peak-voltage protection when connected parallel to the mains, or in series as in a smart meter. New design features resist traditional capacitance-loss mechanisms, allowing for long-term high stability.

In addition, KEMET will debut its latest high-performance ultra-stable ceramic capacitors, including new devices that extend the company’s leadership in the C0G category. These will focus on Class I surface-mount families rated for operation up to 200V, including high-temperature extensions for applications requiring temperature capability as high as 200 degrees C. Also making their debut in Munich, KEMET’s new X8R and X8L axial ceramics are the first of their type in the world with a 150 degrees C capability for automotive and industrial applications.

A wide breadth of solutions will be on show, made possible by KEMET’s partnership with NEC TOKIN. Since announcing the alliance in 2013, the company has moved quickly to extend its portfolio into innovative products such as Flex Suppressor® sheets featuring micro-magnetic foils for attenuating interference or improving signal transmission and reception. The portfolio also offers engineers a selection of high-performing supercapacitors, miniature signal relays, metal composite inductors, EMI cores, and ac line filters.

“Electronica only happens every two years, and the show provides a valuable opportunity for engineers to get together, hear the latest news and get the inside track on where the industry is heading” said Johnny Boan, Vice President, Marketing for KEMET. “We will be launching two exciting new tantalum and film families for automotive applications, and we look forward to showcasing our values of high quality and performance to a wider audience.”
