JV seeks to Redefine Power for Telecom Towers

June 13, 2016 by Jeff Shepard

Tillman Green, LLC (Tillman) and Global Tower Solutions (GTS) announced the formation of Tillman GTS, a global joint venture that will redefine how power is consumed by the telecom tower industry. The new enterprise unites Tillman's experience building telecom infrastructure businesses in emerging and developed markets with GTS' experience with renewable energy.

Tillman GTS plans to invest $500 million over the next three years by providing capital to the mobile telecom tower market. Its efforts will focus on diesel displacement market by leveraging its renewable energy and battery storage solutions. This will help to reduce operating expenditure, cut carbon emissions and provide guaranteed fixed price reliable energy across the world. Tillman GTS has a financing solution that allows for large program energy as a service delivery. It is exploring opportunities in Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia.

"We are excited to announce this partnership with GTS. Tillman Green believes that renewable energy is an important resource that can benefit businesses and individuals globally. GTS has a proven track record in identifying and executing solar solutions for telecom tower businesses and we plan to build a renewable energy platform together," said Sanjiv Ahuja, Chairman of Tillman Green.

"Governments, telecom tower owners and customers are uniting to demand a green energy alternative to diesel in off-grid or bad-grid telecom tower power. Our battery and solar solution is a reliable, cost-effective and sustainable energy solution for the industry. We believe the partnership with Tillman Green will allow us to deploy our solutions in developing and developed countries in the mobile market and other sectors that benefit from our expertise." Said Robert Suss, Managing Director of Global Tower Solutions.
