Jinko Solar Announces First PV Solar Module Starts Production

September 03, 2009 by Jeff Shepard

The first PV solar module of 180W starts production at the manufacturing base of Jinko Solar Co., Ltd., a Shangrao-based integrated manufacturer of photovoltaic (PV) products (ingots, wafers, modules and tracking systems). The production capacity of the company as of 2008 was approximately 185MW. It is estimated that, by the end of 2009, the production capacity will reach approximately 400MW.

The success also fulfills the vertical integration transformation from the production of silicon wafers to solar systems, which ranks Jinko amongst the world-class PV products and solar system solution suppliers.

Jinko Solar states that it provides high efficiency multi-crystalline PV wafers and modules, which have always demonstrated strong operating performance. The successful trail production of the module is said to be a significant moment for all Jinko members. It marks a great improvement in Jinko’s industrial chain for modules and systems. Moreover, Jinko states that the success is also a landmark, as it fulfills the whole PV industrial chain from silicon wafers to solar modules and marks a turning point for Jinko exploring the downstream PV industry.
