Intersil Corp. (Milpitas, CA) announced that the company's Board of Directors has elected a new Chairman. Following the corporate governance precedence of keeping separate the CEO and Chairman roles, the Board named outside director Gary Gist as Chairman. Gist has been one of the company's directors since the company's inception in 1999. Gist is a member of the Audit Committee and the Compensation Committee. Currently, Gist is the President and CEO of Palomar Companies LLC (Palomar).
"Gary brings tremendous knowledge about the electronics industry and management in the high-tech industry," stated Intersil President and CEO Rich Beyer. "Gary has extensive insights into Intersil's transformation into a high-performance analog company. Intersil's management team and I look forward to working even more closely with Gary in his role as Chairman."
