Global Thermoelectric Inc. (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) announced that it has successfully completed the scheduled assembly and initial testing of its three latest-generation, prototype, residential, 2kW fuel cell systems as part of its alliance with Enbridge Inc. (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) to commercialize residential fuel cell systems.
The company also successfully completed the development of a 5kW propane, proof-of-concept, partial-oxidation reformer and demonstrated the ability of Global's solid-oxide fuel cell technology to use propane as a feedstock. The proof-of-concept reformer was based on an existing natural gas fuel processor modified to reform propane. The test results will be used to develop the next-generation propane fuel processor.
