Fresh on the heels of its announcement that the company had raised $25 million in Series C financing, FyreStorm Inc. has reported key management additions and appointment of a new member to its board of directors.

FyreStorm is the privately held fabless semiconductor company delivering revolutionary power conversion and power management solutions for mobile device manufacturers. The company named George N. Alexy, president and chief executive officer; Jim McCreary, executive vice president of engineering; and Perry Denning, vice president of operations and quality.

The company also announced that Bruce Walicek, executive in residence at Worldview Technology Partners, will assume a seat on the FyreStorm board of directors. Worldview, a leading venture capital firm focused on investing in and building leading U.S. technology companies, led the Series C financing round. Walicek has more than 25 years of experience in the semiconductor and EDA industries in the areas of sales, marketing, business development, strategic advisory and finance. Before joining Worldview, he was with Deutsche Bank Alex Brown's Global Investment Banking group and led their Semiconductor Investment Banking practice. Walicek also serves on the board of Pixelworks, a leading developer of advanced system-on-a-chip solutions for the digital display marketplace.

Alexy commands more than 30 years of semiconductor industry experience. Prior to signing on with FyreStorm, he served as president and CEO of BRECIS Communications, which he led from its founding in mid-1999 until its acquisition by a combination of Cavium Networks and PMC-Sierra in mid-2004. Other posts included senior vice president of marketing at Cirrus Logic, where he also served in a number of other management roles including office of the president, and marketing manager for the Microprocessor Unit at Intel. Alexy received his master's in electrical engineering from Stanford University and his bachelor's from Drexel University.

McCreary was vice president of engineering for iWatt and Xicor.

Denning was vice president of operations and quality for inSilica and for IC Media. Early in his career he managed two advanced wafer fabrication facilities for Texas Instruments.

FyreStorm strives to deliver innovative power conversion and power management solutions for high-volume battery-operated consumer electronics devices such as smart phones, portable media players, hand-held GPS and digital cameras.
