Exar to Exhibit High Density Power Solutions

March 19, 2017 by Power Pulse1595211359

Exar Corporation will showcase its latest power management products at booth 511 at the APEC Conference in Tampa, FL from March 27-29, 2017. The company is known for providing robust, high density power solutions offering a wide input voltage range and excellent thermal performance.

The Exar booth at the conference will highlight three families of devices, among other demos. The first is its series of high density power modules featuring the world's smallest footprints. Devices in this series range from a 3A, 40V module in a compact 8mm x 8mm package to a 20A, 22V module in a 12mm x 14mm package, and are fully integrated power modules that include MOSFETs, inductors, and internal input and output capacitors.

The second is its advanced DrMOS (Driver plus MOSFETs), which contains a synchronous buck gate driver packaged with both half bridge MOSFETs. The package design provides very low thermal impedance and minimizes parasitic inductances resulting in excellent EMI performance. Advanced features include IMON and TMON outputs.

The third family to be highlighted is the industry's only 40V 8A Synchronous switching regulator with AEC-Q100 qualification for automotive applications such as infotainment head units and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Members of this family are synchronous step-down regulators designed to provide a wide input voltage range and an adjustable output voltage down to 0.6V while providing excellent transient response and output accuracy over the entire voltage range.
