Ericsson Completes Sale of Microelectronics Unit

Ericsson (Stockholm, Sweden) announced a close to its transactions with Infineon Technologies AG (Munich, Germany), whereby Infineon acquires the core business of Ericsson Microelectronics AB (Stockholm, Sweden) and its related global activities. The sale price was MSEK 2,800 (300 MEUR). The transaction was executed in a share-based deal with approval by the responsible anti-trust authorities.

Infineon's wireless activities have been focusing on the high-volume business of semiconductors for mobile phones. The acquisition allows Infineon to expand its business in Bluetooth solutions and radio frequency components for mobile phones as well as mobile infrastructure.
