September 15, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Enova Systems Inc. (Torrance, CA), a developer and manufacturer of mobile and stationary electric, hybrid and fuel cell digital power management systems, and Eco Power Technologies (EPT, Italy) announced that EPT has purchased and received an additional five Panther™ 120kW drive systems for use in its fleet of electric and hybrid buses.

The latest purchase follows the successful integration and operation of 42 Panther™ 120kW systems. The drive systems, integrated into EPT's electric and hybrid fleet using a Capstone 30kW microturbine, operate in several Italian cities, including Turin, Genoa, Brescia, Ferrara and Vicenza. EPT continues to market its buses to other cities throughout Italy and Europe, and anticipates additional drive system purchases in 2003 and beyond.

Enova President and CEO Carl Perry stated, "EPT is an outstanding organization that develops and integrates both electric and hybrid buses in the transportation markets in Italy. We are very pleased to be a part of their great success in capturing alternative fuel bus programs."
