November 08, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Darnell Group Inc. (Corona, CA) announced that it is accepting sponsors for its comprehensive Fifth Edition update of "Power Packs for Portable Electronic Devices - Worldwide Forecasts, Applications, Chemistries, Threats and Competitive Environment," which will provide an in-depth analysis of the market for battery packs and related power management devices.

Wireless mobility is driving a wide variety of portable applications including industrial equipment, medical devices, communications and computing. Radio frequency identification devices, portable medical equipment, mobile handsets, interoperable emergency radios and notebook computers are just some of the applications that will drive sales of rechargeable batteries and raise the hopes of micro-fuel cell makers. Furthermore, to meet the needs of these power-hungry devices, semiconductor companies are developing power management ICs with better charging algorithms, better LDOs and more integration of power management functions.
