Cypress Semi Announces Proposed IPO for SunPower

Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (San Jose, CA) announced that it intends to make an initial public offering (IPO) of the common stock of its silicon solar-cell power subsidiary SunPower Corp. (Sunnyvale, CA). The offering is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2005, subject to Securities and Exchange Commission effectiveness, and the receipt of all necessary state approvals.
