Catalytica Energy Systems Inc. (Mountain View, CA) announced that Craig Kitchen has resigned from his position as president and CEO to pursue other interests. Kitchen will continue to serve as a director of the company. The board of directors has appointed Chairman of the Board Ricardo Levy to the position of Interim CEO and will initiate a search for a new president and CEO.
"We appreciate the contributions that Craig has made to the successful launch and evolution of Catalytica Energy Systems," said Levy. "Under his direction, the company has made tremendous progress in its transition from a development stage to a commercial business. We will miss Craig's enthusiasm, positive attitude and strong leadership. The board wishes him well in his new endeavors and looks forward to his continued insight and participation as a director of Catalytica Energy Systems."
