Condor Moving to Lead-Free Linear Power Supply Design

November 15, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Condor DC Power Supplies Inc. (Oxnard, CA), a medical power supply manufacturer, reported that it is converting all the commercial and medical models in its linear power supply line, in order to bring the units into full compliance with the RoHS directive. The models are in widespread use, powering a variety of medical and commercial OEM systems. Condor’s "International Plus" Series of linear supplies are available in 115 models encompassing worldwide ac input ranges and safety standards, seven power levels that range from 3 W to 288 W, and regulated outputs that produce low noise. They are distinguished by rugged design and construction and are available in single- and multiple-output configurations.

Commercial models include industry-standard packages. They are approved to UL 60950-1, CSA 60950-1-03 (L3M1), EN60950-1, and IEC 60950-1 standards. The linear supplies feature burn-in with cycling and a three-year warranty. The capacitors have high CV and ripple current ratings. Complete specifications of, and a release schedule for, lead-free linear models can be found on the company's website.
