Littelfuse, Inc. will be presenting new technologies, trends and vital components as well as current and future industry requirements in markets such as electrical energy, consumer electronics, automobiles, commercial vehicles and industrial equipment. The company is also rapidly expanding into adjacent markets, such as power control and sensing platforms, heavy-duty switches for commercial vehicles and electromechanical sensors used in the automotive industry.

Two Littelfuse presentations to be held at the Exhibitor Forum, Hall B5: Dr. Brian Johnson, Global Engineering Director, Littelfuse, will be describing a new concept in Linear Position Sensing in PWG technology, November 11, 2-2:30 p.m. And Bharat Shenoy, Director of Technical Marketing, Littelfuse, will be talking about surge protection for outdoor LED lighting, November 12, 3-3:30 p.m.

At Electronica, Littelfuse will be presenting two product lines designed specifically to provide transient overvoltage protection for outdoor and commercial LED lighting fixtures. Constructed with Littelfuse thermally protected Varistors, the LSP05 and LSP10 Surge Protection Device (SPD) Modules provide robust surge current handling capability. A built-in thermal disconnect function provides additional protection from catastrophic failures and fire hazards, even under the extreme circumstances of Varistor end of life or sustained overvoltage conditions. Applications include outdoor and commercial LED lighting.

Littelfuse Q6008xH1LED and Q6012xH1LED Series Alternistor Triacs and Q6008LTH1LED and Q6012LTH1LED Series QUADRACs for LED Dimming offer robust solutions for power switching control of ac line-based LED dimmer applications. They are designed to work as the switching device in the dimmer circuit to vary the light output of new dimmable LED bulbs and strings. They are well suited to the needs of LED lighting dimmer designers who want to combine the widest range of operating parameters with high reliability and without degrading the dimmer’s performance. The market-leading low load current capability of these devices allows creating a single dimmer design that can handle all dimmable lighting loads: LED, CFL, and traditional incandescent.

Reed sensors are magnetically actuated proximity switches that are available in a variety of mounting options. The switching function is activated by introducing or removing a magnetic field. With the 2 part magnetically operated proximity sensor 59145 and 59150, flying leads can exit on either the left or right hand side of the housing. The case design allows for screw down or adhesive mounting. Furthermore, sensitivity can be defined to meet specific customer needs.

Key benefits include no standby power requirement, operation through non-ferrous materials such as wood, plastic or aluminum, hermetically sealed, magnetically operated contacts that continue to operate long after optical and other technologies fail due to contamination. The main applications for Flange Mount Reed Sensors include position and limit sensing, security system switches, linear actuators, and door switches.
