Hangzhou-based Astronergy has received both CSA and TUV Certificates In recognition of Its 1500V modules. At the same time, Shanghai-based JinkoSolar's 1500-VDC Eagle modules are now available in North America following UL 1703 Certification.

Astronergy's newly-developed 1500V solar module allows a smaller amount of direct current passing through the system so that the entire system's efficiency is improved, which is because less equipment is needed for the first part of system. In addition, higher voltage enables less power losses while transporting. The amount of conjunction boxes and wires would also be reduced, therefore cutting the cost. The module components that are qualified to the 1500V-based system require a higher level of technology to produce. Astronergy, after years of effort, and as a leader in the solar industry, is able to provide this type of system to its clients.

"We think this is going to be a trend of the market. Our company has strong abilities in developing new products. The 1500V-based module system has higher reliability compared to previous products. Clients always have expectation on us. It is our duty to serve them the best," Executive Vice President Dr. Lu Chuan commented.

JinkoSolar’s 1,500Vdc Eagle PV modules, manufactured with its strategic partner DuPont's™ Tedlar® polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) film-based backsheets, have received UL1703 certification by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Following certification, the modules have immediately become available for use in solar energy installations across North America. With its modules now in the market, JinkoSolar will be able to meet the growing demand for higher-voltage systems, which lower overall costs, reduce levelized cost of energy, and enable a better return on investment.

JinkoSolar's 1500-volt Eagle modules pass potential induced degradation tests at 85 degrees Celsius and 85% relative humidity and are protected by DuPont(TM) Tedlar(R) PVF film-based backsheets. The Eagle module is a framed panel compatible with commonly used racking and tracking systems in the North America market.

"DuPont Tedlar PVF film-based backsheets offer the optimal balance of weatherability, adhesion, and mechanical strength--properties required for long module lifetime. They provide extended durability and electrical insulation, which make them ideal components for JinkoSolar's 1500-volt Eagle modules, now poised to accelerate the growth of the North American PV market," said Alex Bradley, Principal Investigator, DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions.

"JinkoSolar has quickly become the brand of choice for utility-scale installations due to our high quality modules and unmatched after sales services. I believe that JinkoSolar's 1500-volt Eagle modules are by far one of the most robust products in the North American market, especially with DuPont(TM) Tedlar(R) backsheets. These high quality modules are yet another step in our effort to provide customers with the best technology and proven, reliable, and cost-effective products," said Nigel Cockroft, General Manager of JinkoSolar (U.S.) Inc.
