Cadence Design Systems Inc. (San Jose, CA) announced that the worldwide Electronic Devices Group of Fujitsu Ltd. (Japan) renewed and substantially increased its license agreement for Cadence's electronic design technology. With this license renewal of the complete integrated circuit design flow, Fujitsu expects to continue reducing its design turn-around time in its telecommunications, information processing, and research and development groups.
The agreement addresses Fujitsu's complete IC design needs and encompasses technologies from all six Cadence product areas: system-level design, functional verification, synthesis/place-and-route, custom IC design, physical verification and analysis, and printed circuit boards.
"We renewed this license with Cadence as a way to give Fujitsu a competitive edge over other world-class electronics companies," said Toshihiko Ono, vice president, Electronic Devices Group, Fujitsu.
