March 07, 2006 by Jeff Shepard

To continue its focus in Asia Pacific, Belkin Corp. has named Tong, former VP of Marketing and Product Management - Belkin US, to the position of Vice President, Asia Pacific of Belkin Asia Pacific Limited. Mr. Tong will be based out of the organization's new Hong Kong office, headquarters for the region, established in November 2005. This move adds to Belkin's increased regional presence with its existing Singapore and Shanghai offices, and with additional offices in other Asia Pacific countries planned for the near future.

According to a company statement, Mr. Tong will continue to build upon what has already been a successful move into the region. He is responsible for all sales, marketing, and operational activities for the region, with the intent of delivering thoughtful solutions to make end users' lives easier in an increasingly more complex and sophisticated IT and CE world.

"Our ultimate goal is to create an ecstatic user experience that results in a long-lasting and loyal relationship with the Asia Pacific consumer," says Mr. Tong. "It's a really exciting time in Asia Pacific, and I look forward to helping Belkin grow its brand across the region."

"We have a great team in place under Eric's leadership," comments Chet Pipkin, Belkin CEO/President. "As our company continues to evolve into a more complete global organization, his passion and strategic leadership will further solidify Belkin as a leader in the digital connectivity space."

"The market opportunities in the Asia Pacific region are huge, and we strongly believe in the specific country markets embedded there," continues Mr. Pipkin. "With Eric at the helm, we are eager to be adding more resources to accelerate our growth there."
