Battery-Powered DC Lifts for Replacing Batteries on Tesla EVs

March 12, 2014 by Jeff Shepard

Rotary Lift Inc., the exclusive vehicle lift supplier to Tesla Motors, has installed Shockwave-equipped two-post vehicle lifts in all of the Tesla Service Centers in North America. And Rotary Lift two-post, four-post and Shockwave-equipped lifts are installed in Tesla service centers around the world. Like Tesla's Roadster and Model S electric cars, Rotary Lift's Shockwave-equipped lifts are battery-operated, clean, green and fast. Thanks in part to their patent-pending dc power units, Shockwave-equipped lifts are the world's fastest lift: twice as fast as standard lifts. This speed helps Tesla technicians perform battery swaps on owners' vehicles in just minutes.

"Rotary Lift's Shockwave-equipped lifts are a natural choice for Tesla service centers," says Mark Fitzpatrick, Rotary Lift OEM account manager. "Like Tesla's groundbreaking vehicles, Shockwave-equipped lifts use innovative design and technology to deliver superior performance. Shockwave's unmatched lift speed enables Tesla's technicians to provide their customers with faster service. And our use of sustainable battery electric power provides the added benefit of lowering facilities' lift installation and overall daily operating costs."

In addition to Shockwave-equipped lifts, Rotary Lift supplies Tesla Service Centers around the globe with its standard two-post lifts and four-post alignment lifts through Bosch Automotive Service Solutions. Bosch administers the Tesla equipment program globally and provides facility planning and installation for all of the manufacturer's global workshops. Rotary Lift two-post lifts accelerated by Shockwave have been third-party tested by ETL and ALI certified to meet ANSI safety and performance standards. They are built in Madison, Indiana.

Rotary Lift was founded in 1925 by the inventor of the first automotive hydraulic lift. Today, Rotary Lift offers the broadest line of lifts for use in professional automotive service, commercial truck and transit, and enthusiast/residential customer segments. According to the company, there are more Rotary Lift products used in vehicle repair shops around the world than any other brand.
