The Tantalum Division of AVX Corp. (Myrtle Beach, SC), a manufacturer and supplier of passive electronic components and related products, has received ISO 14001 certification for its factories in Paignton, UK, and Lanskroun, Czech Republic. The certification indicates that the facilities have met all requirements of the ISO 14001 international standards for developing and implementing an Environmental Management System that complies with the requirements of BS EN ISO 14001:1996 for the design and manufacture of tantalum capacitors.
AVX underwent thorough reviews of its current environmental management system, including environmental objectives, impact procedures, employee training and documentation, records and commitment to continual improvement, prevention, and compliance.
"AVX has taken a proactive approach when it comes to our environment," said Strategic Marketing Manager Craig Hunter. "Receiving this certification confirms that our environmental policies and planning, as well as how we operate and implement these policies, are recognized and meet with the approval of ISO."
