APEC 2005 Announces Call for Papers

The Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), a leading worldwide conference and exhibit for practicing power electronics professionals, announced a call for papers for the APEC 2005 event to be held at the Austin Hilton in Austin, TX, March 6-10, 2005.

The APEC conference, jointly sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Power Electronics Society, the IEEE Industry Applications Society and the Power Sources Manufacturers Association, is noted for presenting top-quality, peer-reviewed, non-commercial papers of practical importance related to the design and application of power electronics.

For APEC 2005, papers are being solicited in the technical areas of Emerging Applications of Power Electronics; AC-DC Power Supplies; DC-DC Converters; Uninterruptible Power Supplies; Motors, Drives and Inverters; Lamps, Ballasts and Lighting; Power-Factor Correction; Powering Electronic Equipment; Power System Design Tools and Techniques; Modeling and Simulation; Manufacturing Processes; Components for Power Electronics; and Packaging of Power Electronics.

In addition, papers are solicited covering topics related to the business of power electronics, including new market developments; e-commerce; business models; and techniques for marketing, selling and qualifying electronic products. The deadline for submission of paper abstracts is August 9, 2004. Authors will be notified of acceptance no later than October 18, 2004.
