ANADIGICS Reports Second-Quarter 2005 Results

ANADIGICS Inc. (Warren, NJ), a designer of radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) solutions for communications, reported second-quarter 2005 net sales of $23.9 million, compared to net sales of $21.8 million in the prior quarter and $22.7 million in the year-ago quarter. The net loss for the quarter was $9.1 million, or $0.27 per share, compared with a net loss of $11.5 million, or $0.34 per share, in the prior quarter, and $11.7 million, or $0.36 per share, in the year-ago quarter.

For the six months ended July 2, 2005, net sales were $45.7 million compared with $43.9 million in the six months ended July 3, 2004. The net loss was $20.5 million, or $0.61 per share, compared with $24.5 million, or $0.77 per share, in the prior year. As of July 2, 2005, cash and short-term and long-term marketable securities totaled $90.0 million compared with $97.3 million at the end of the first quarter 2005.

Net sales and the loss per share for the third quarter of 2005 are expected to improve by approximately 10 percent compared with the second quarter of 2005. The company’s wireless product line is expected to grow 15 percent to 20 percent in revenues.
