October 29, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

AMI Semiconductor (AMIS, Pocatello, ID) announced that its operation in Belgium has achieved ISO/TS 16949 certification. Full company certification is targeted for November 2002. AMIS is one of the first microelectronics companies to achieve this certificate level. ISO/TS 16949, coupled with customer-specific requirements, defines quality system requirements for use in the automotive supply chain.

"The key quality focus of AMI Semiconductor is to meet our customers' specific requirements. ISO/TS 16949 ensures we have robust, repeatable and documented methodologies and systems to consistently produce world-class products," said Tim Forhan, AMIS vice president of quality.
