Active Power Inc. (Austin, TX) announced it is expanding the space it occupies. By the end of March, the company will have moved into an additional 13,000ft square of laboratory and office space at its headquarters on Stonehollow Drive. This increases Active Power's total administration and laboratory square footage to 23,500ft.
The company is also planning to approximately double its existing 15,000ft square manufacturing facility to meet growing demand from Caterpillar for its flywheel-based UPS system, which will be announced formally this spring.
"This additional space will be used for developing next-generation products and new technologies to keep Active Power out front in supplying leading energy storage and power quality solutions," said Joe Pinkerton, CEO of Active Power.
