March 01, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

ZTE Corp. (China) recently debuted the ZXDU45 built-in power system, which consists of three 15A ZXD800E rectifier modules at full configuration, with a maximum rated output of 45A. With a 19-inch standard width, units are suitable for the integrated cabinets of access- and switching-equipment, but can also be used separately. In addition, multiple systems may be used in parallel.

ZTE relates that the ZXDU45 integrates ac and dc distribution, rectifiers and monitor units into one unit which, they claim, is light-weight and compact. The device has a plug-in box structure and a hot-plug mode for the rectifiers and monitoring units. ZTE reports that it has professional lightning arrester devices, with high-input protection performance, in addition to a wide input range and high power factor. The company maintains that it has excellent battery management, with a two-stage power shut-down function.
