Zane International Announces DC Linear Power Supply

December 13, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

ZANE International Inc. (Grand Junction, CO) announces the DC Linear Power Supply. ZANE claims that the product's switching and linear stages are closely coordinated via an optical coupler, thus boosting efficiency and power density to near the level of buck topologies. They also maintain that the device is quiet and has low RF emissions. The DC Linear Power Supply is approximately 2" square within an enclosure to sink on existing metallic structure.

Output voltage of the DC Linear Power Supply is adjustable via an included potentiometer. There is no minimum load. Quiescent current is 14mA, and the product features thermal, short-circuit, load dump and reverse battery protection. Both 2.5A and 7.5A versions are available in overlapping source battery ranges of 6V, 12V and 24V.

Applications include portable electronics, communications systems and alarms, as well as fluorescent lighting and battery charging.

The DC Linear Power Supply is priced at $40.26 each for quantities below 10 of the 2.5A version. For quantities below 10 of the 7.5A version, the cost is $69.42. OEM and distributor quantities are available in 2 weeks.
