XPiQ Presents PBM65 Series Power Supplies

March 30, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

XPiQ Inc. (Holliston, MA) introduced the new PBM65 Series of medically approved power supplies, which provide up to 65W of output power. The new single-output units accept a wide range of input voltages from 85Vac to 264Vac and can deliver output voltages ranging from 5.1Vdc to 28Vdc. A choice of six models is available with output voltages of 5.1Vdc, 12Vdc, 15Vdc, 18Vdc, 24Vdc and 28Vdc.

The PBM65 features an open-frame design with a compact footprint measuring only 5in x 3in x 1.2in. The converter’s small size makes it suitable for usage in a variety of medical equipment where there are space limitations. Additional features include 4,000Vac isolation, low leakage current, no minimum load requirements, and over-voltage and over-current with auto-restart protection. All models meet international medical safety agency standards and Level B EMI requirements. For European requirements, the PMB65 carries the CE mark and also provides line and neutral fused.

Pricing for the PBM65 Series is as low as $36 for 1,000-piece quantities. All models are stocked to allow immediate delivery of prototypes. Standard production lead-time is 8 to 10 weeks ARO.
