XPiQ Offers ZC Series Switching Power Supply

March 09, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

XPiQ Inc. (Holliston, MA) introduced its new 600W, ZC Series of multi-output, switching power supplies. The ZC Series has a 1.6in profile to meet 1U requirements, has five outputs and is a configurable power supply capable of producing 234 different output combinations. By just setting internal DIP switches, the switcher is easily programmed at the factory to meet most any combination of output voltages and currents.

The units accepts both universal ac 85Vac to 264Vac and dc 48V nominal input in combinations of two to five channels plus a 5Vdc, 1A independent standby output. Adjustable output voltages are available from 1.8Vdc to 12Vdc. Both hot-swap or chassis-mount models are available with the ZC Series. The low-profile case measures only 1.6in (1U) x 5in x 11in, generating 6.8W/in³. Contained within the ultra-compact case are internal cooling fans and a single, hot-pluggable output connector.

The ZC Series features single-wire current sharing, remote sensing, no-load operation, power-factor correction, and over-voltage and over-temperature protection. Also included are input and output control and monitoring features. The ZC Series has international safety approvals, CE (LVD) marking and meets EN61000-3-2/EN61000-3 requirements.

Pricing for 1,000 pieces is $590. The series is available in small quantities with production volume available in 10 to 12 weeks ARO.
