XPiQ Intros SMQ500/600 Series Power Supplies

XPiQ Inc. (Holliston, MA), a worldwide manufacturer and supplier of ac/dc and dc/dc power supply products, introduced the new SMQ500/SMQ600 Series of high power density, single-output, ac/dc power supplies designed within a compact enclosure. The converters measure 2.50in x 4.25in x 9.17in, including an end-mounted fan and cover. The SMQ500 delivers up to 500W of output power and the SMQ600 provides up to 600W of output power. Both the SMQ500 and SMQ600 have a wide input range from 90Vac to 264Vac and active power-factor correction to meet international EN61000-3-2,-3 standards.

Each series offers nine standard models with output voltages from 3.3Vdc to 54Vdc. An optional constant-current version is also available for all models. This option expands the converter’s operation to be suitable for battery-charging applications. High peak load capability and terminal block connectors make the SMQ Series suitable for industrial applications. Additional features for the SMQ Series include remote sense; no minimum load requirements; and over-voltage, over-temperature and over-current protection with auto recovery. The SMQ Series has international safety agency approvals and carries the CE mark (LVD).

Pricing starts at $0.33 per watt, with 1,000 pieces priced on the SMQ500 at $181 and the SMQ600 at $198. The converters are currently in stock for small quantities with production volume available in eight weeks ARO.
