June 15, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

XPiQ Inc. (Holliston, MA) introduced the LP-MD Series of medically approved power supplies, which enables more than 250,000 power supply configurations with a choice of four chassis ranging from 150W to 450W. Configuration of one to five isolated outputs is available from a wide selection of 39 output modules. Outputs range from 1.8Vdc to 48Vdc. All models are approved to UL2601-1, EN60601-1 and CSA22.2-601. The series also meets Level A or Level B EMI requirements and carries the CE mark.

The LP-MD features an open-frame design with a low profile suitable for 1U applications. An end fan cover option is available for the 350W chassis and standard for the 450W series. Additional features include 4,000Vac isolation, low leakage current, no minimum load requirements, remote sense, over-voltage and over-current with auto-restart protection, and single-wire current sharing. Models may also be paralleled for maximum current with a single output.

Pricing for the LP-MD Series is as low as $150 for the 150W series to $225 for the 450W model in 1,000-piece quantities. Small quantities can be configured and shipped within 48 hours. Standard production lead-time is eight weeks ARO.
