XPiQ Intros KHE030 Series Eighth-Brick Converters
XPiQ Inc. (Holliston, MA), a worldwide manufacturer and supplier of ac/dc and dc/dc power supply products, expanded its dc/dc converter product line with the addition of the new KHE030 Series of eighth-brick converters. The converters produce high currents of 30A at efficiencies up to 89% and have a high power density of 93W/in³. Conforming to Bellcore and ETSI requirements, the series is capable of accepting a wide range of input voltages from 36Vdc to 75Vdc. The KHE030 also features a variety of output voltage modules, which includes 5V, 3.3V, 2.5V, 1.8V, 1.5V and 1.2V.
Designed for applications with challenging space constraints, the KHE030 conforms to the new industry standard measuring 2.30in x 0.89in. The devices feature a package size that is only 60% the area of the industry-standard quarter brick and offers the same pin-out configuration as well as a low profile of 0.41in. The single-output converters provide a compact size suitable for usage in the datacom and telecom industries.
The KHE030’s thermal performance features a full-rated, output-current performance without derating in standard operating environments of 50°C and 300 LFM. Standard features for the new KHE030 Series include remote sensing, remote on/off, over-temperature protection, output-voltage adjust pin, input under-voltage protection, and output over-current and over-voltage protection. The converters also feature no minimum-load requirements, tightly regulated outputs, auto-restart after fault shutdown, self-contained bias circuitry that eliminates race conditions, low ripple and noise, and constant-frequency operation for predictable EMI characteristics.
The KHE030 is priced at $49.50 for 1,000 pieces. The series is available now in small quantities with production volume available in six to eight weeks ARO. Samples are available directly through XPiQ.
