Welwyn Components Ltd. (UK) unveiled a new resistor with a defined total excursion designed to provide high stability under temperature fluctuations of 5ppm/°C and a tolerance down to 0.01%. The CAR Series ultra-precision, metal film resistors have a specially formulated epoxy coating that offers high reliability and moisture performance, giving a typical long-term damp heat stability of 0.02%. They are suitable for use in weighing and measurement instrumentation equipment that requires stability and precision over a long period of time.
The CAR Series offers three power ratings of 0.25W, 0.33W and 0.5W at 70°C ambient. Limiting voltages are 250V, 350V and 500V, respectively. Resistance values range from 10R0 to 10M ohms, with tolerances down to 0.01% and TCRs to 5ppm/°C. The operating temperature range is from –55°C to +155°C.
Pricing for the CAR Series is $0.60 each for the 0.02%, 10ppm/°C part, with lead times from four to six weeks.
