Vishay Releases Four New 100V Trench MOS Barrier Schottky Rectifiers in Low-Profile, Surface-Mount SMA & SMB Packages

January 12, 2010 by Jeff Shepard

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. introduced four new 100V TMBS® Trench MOS Barrier Schottky rectifiers with high current density from 2 to 4A in low-profile, surface-mount SMA and SMB packages.

The devices released today include the VSSA310S and VSSA210 in the DO-214AC (SMA) package and the VSSB410S and VSSB310 in the DO-214AA (SMB) package. The SMA and SMB packages feature low profiles of 2.29 and 2.44mm, respectively.

With extremely low forward voltage drops down to 0.56V typical and superior avalanche capability, the devices reduce power loss and improve efficiency in freewheeling diodes, dc-to-dc converters, and polarity protection in switchmode power supplies (SMPS), set-top boxes, and consumer electrical appliances.

The new rectifiers feature a maximum junction temperature of + 150°C and a moisture sensitivity level (MSL) of 1, per J-STD-020, LF maximum peak of 260°C. Well suited for automated placement, the devices are compliant to RoHS directive 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC.

Samples and production quantities of the new Trench MOS Barrier Schottky rectifiers are available now, with lead times of six weeks for larger orders. Pricing for U.S. delivery begins at $0.10 per piece in quantities below 10,000 pieces.
