Vishay Intros WSL Power Metal Strip Chip Resistors

New Products Jun 23, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, PA) announced three additions to its WSL Series of surface-mount, Power Metal Strip® resistors. With very low TCR values of just 15ppm/°C and high power ratings of 0.25W, 0.5W and 1.0W, respectively, in compact 1506, 2010 and 2512 case sizes, the new, patent-pending, extended-range, flip-chip, WSL resistors maintain the electrical characteristics of the Power Metal Strip construction while occupying a smaller mounting area on the printed circuit board.

The WSL1506E, WSL2010E and WSL2512E feature good pulse-handling capability and a very broad resistance range of 0.5Ù to 10,000Ù, with standard tolerances of ±1.0% and ±0.5%. All three resistors also provide low-noise operation of <0.01µV(rms)/V, a voltage coefficient of <0.00001%/V (<0.1 ppm/V) and very low inductance of <0.08µH. They are specified for a category temperature range of -55°C to +150°.

Provided in 8mm (WSL1506E) and 12mm (WSL2010E and WSL2512E) tape-and-reel form, samples and production quantities of the new WSL extended-range resistors are available now, with a lead time of 10 weeks for larger orders.
