Vishay Intros New PR Series Thin-Film Resistor Arrays

New Products Jul 15, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, PA) announced its new PR Series of high-precision, thin-film, resistor arrays in 1206, 0805 and 0603 case sizes with a low profile of 0.4 mm. Vishay claims to be the only manufacturer to offer 0.01% ratio tolerance as a standard product feature in such low-profile arrays.

The new devices feature a highly stable TAMELOX® (passivated nichrome) resistive layer. The PR Series resistor arrays are specified for an absolute temperature coefficient ratio (TCR) of 10 ppm/°C and TCR tracking of 2 ppm/°C, or down to 1 ppm/°C on request, and offer a low noise of less than -30 dB and voltage coefficients of less than 0.1 ppm/V. The PR 100 is packaged in a 1.6 mm wide case with a 1 mm pitch, and is rated for a resistance range of 100 ohms to 200 kilohms and a working voltage of 35 V. In a 1.85 mm case, the PR 135 features a 1.35 mm pitch, a resistance range of 100 ohms to 300 kilohms and a working voltage of 75 V. The PR 182 occupies a 3 mm case with a 1.82 mm pitch, and is rated for a resistance range of 100 ohms to 1 megohm and a working voltage of 100 V. All three products feature a power rating of 100 mW per resistor at +70 °C, and an operating temperature range of -55 °C to +155 °C.

Samples and production quantities of the new devices are available now, with a lead time of 10 weeks for larger orders. Pricing for US delivery is $2.38 per 500 pieces.
