Vishay Extends IHLP® Family Of Low-Profile, High-Current Inductors With Devices In 6767 Case Size

February 16, 2009 by Jeff Shepard

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced a new IHLP® low-profile, high-current inductor in the 6767 case size. As the company’s largest IHLP device to date, the IHLP-6767GZ-01 offers a 17.15 x 17.65mm footprint and 7.0mm profile, with a high maximum frequency and standard inductance values from 0.22 through 22 µH.

With a frequency range up to 2 MHz, Vishay states that the new IHLP inductor serves as a high-performing, space- and power-saving solution for voltage regulator module (VRM), dc-to-dc converter, and noise filtering applications in end products including next-generation mobile devices; desktop computers, servers, graphic cards, and automotive systems; low-profile, high-current power supplies and point of load (POL) converters; distributed power systems; and field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).

The IHLP-6767GZ-01 offers an inductance range from 0.22 to 22µH, a saturation current range from 23 up to 129A, a heat rating current range from 9.0 to 44A, typical DCR from 0.63 to 25.1mΩ, and maximum DCR from 0.66 to 26.5mΩ.

The new inductor handles high transient current spikes without hard saturation. Packaged in an RoHS-compliant, 100% lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz noise to ultra-low levels, the new device is specified for an operating temperature range of 55 to +125°C, with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration.

Samples and production quantities of the new inductor are available now, with lead times of 10 to 12 weeks for large orders. Pricing for U.S. delivery only in 10,000-piece quantities is $1.25 per piece.
