Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, PA) announced that it has extended its IHLP family of low-profile, high-current inductors with two new devices offering inductance ranges of 0.1 µH to 2.2 µH (IHLP-2525EZ-05) and 3.3 µH to 10 µH (IHLP-2525EZ-01). The IHLP inductors are suitable for voltage regulator module and dc-dc converter applications in end products, including next-generation mobile devices; notebooks, desktop computers and servers; automotive systems; low-profile, high-current power supplies and point-of-load converters; distributed power systems; and field-programmable gate arrays.

The IHLP-2525EZ-05 and IHLP-2525EZ-01 inductors measure 0.255 in x 0.270 in x 0.197 in (6.47 mm x 6.86 mm x 5.0 mm). Both occupy the standard 2525 footprint shared by lower-profile IHLP devices while providing high-rated current and low DCR values. The new devices are specified for saturation currents ranging from 10 A to 70 A, typical DCR values ranging from 0.81 mΩ to 53.3 mΩ, and maximum DCR values ranging from 0.93 mΩ to 56 mΩ. The two inductors feature ±20% inductance tolerance.

Packaged in a 100% lead-free, shielded, composite construction, the new devices are specified for an operating temperature range of -55 °C to +125 °C with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock and vibration. Samples and production quantities of the new inductors are available now. Lead time for production quantities is six to eight weeks. Pricing for US delivery in 10,000-piece quantities is $0.70 for the IHLP-2525EZ-01 and $0.65 for the IHLP-2525EZ-05.
