Ultralife Batteries Adds UBP543048/UBP563450 Cells

Ultralife Batteries Inc. (Newark, NY) announced that it has added the first two of a number of new Prismatic lithium-ion cells to its rechargeable battery product line. The cells, manufactured by Ultralife Taiwan Inc., will complement the company's existing Ultralife Polymer brand rechargeable products.

The two new standard sizes of Ultralife lithium-ion rechargeable batteries are cell model UBP543048, a 5.4mm thick (0.21in), 16.5g (0.58oz) cell that has a rated capacity of 700mAh. The UBP563450 cell is 5.6mm thick (0.22in), weighs 24g (0.85oz) and has a rated capacity of 920mAh. These two lithium-ion cells are used in wireless and portable electronic products such as mobile phones and PDAs. Ultralife expects to add additional cell sizes as they become available over the next few months.

In addition to lithium-ion Prismatic cells, Ultralife will also begin offering a number of Ultralife Taiwan's polymer cells to complement its own polymer product line. The first cell to be offered is model UBC385070, which is 3.8mm thick (0.15in), weighs 25g (0.88oz) and has a rated capacity of 1,050mAh. The cell size is suitable for use in a variety of portable applications such as PDAs and other portable electronic devices.
