Tyco Unveils New QW015 Series DC/DC Converters

Tyco Electronics Power Systems (Dallas, TX) announced the QW015 Series of ultra-high efficiency, quarter-brick-size, dc/dc converters. The QW015 Series operates over an input-voltage range between 36V to 75V (48Vdc nominal) with a wide variety of output voltages, and delivers 10A at 5V; 15A at 3.3V; and 20A at 2.5V, 1.8V, 1.5V, 1.2V and 1.0V.

The QW015 Series features 91 percent efficiency at 3.3Vdc and 88 percent efficiency at 1.8Vdc, a delivery of 15A at 85 degrees C with an air flow of only 1ms (200LFM), ripple and noise of 30mV peak-to-peak, an input-to-output isolation capability of 2,250Vdc, a low profile of just 0.335in

(8.5mm), an ambient temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees C, an innovative column-pin connector that enables the module to self adjust on the customer board, over-temperature protection, over-current protection, over-voltage protection, input under-voltage protection, remote on/off, tightly regulated output voltages, and

monotonic start up into a pre-biased output.
